Ian developed a passion for agriculture growing up on the family farm at Walgett in North-West NSW. After attending boarding school in Bathurst, Ian attained a Bachelor of Agricultural Economics with 1^st Class Honours from the University of New England and went onto complete the CA program with PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Ian worked as an accountant in Sydney and Dubbo, before spending 10 years as an Agribusiness Bank Manager where he worked with a variety of farming clients as well as post farm gate commercial businesses across Central West and Western NSW. In 2022 Ian returned to accounting and is a partner in an accounting firm in Dubbo. Ian is passionate about assisting farming business better understand what drives profitability in their business and how this can be improved to lead to better succession planning outcomes.

Outside of work, Ian enjoys spending time with his wife Sophie and four children, working on his small property at Dubbo, watching and coaching Rugby Union with the Dubbo Roos, flying and socialising with friends.
